Under direct supervision and guidance, performs testing and/or participates with other personnel on projects ranging from updating documents according to standards. Insuring all testing is completed on time with little to no errors. Relay information to leads/programmers/QA members of any issues that arises during testing.
Responsibilities and Duties
Detail oriented, have clear written & verbal communication skills and time management skills.
Able to execute test strategies for regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
Create, document, and maintain test cases and relative testing documents based on written and verbal specifications.
Track, and report defects to software developers/managers using a defect tracking system
Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
Some skills to Identify, analyze, and document problems.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic skills to analyze and resolve problems detected during testing.
Basic Knowledge of general operating information technology systems.
Basic Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques used to assess problems within a computer program/application.
Basic Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) techniques for sorting, searching, and functions of systems/applications.
Basic Knowledge of security practices to protect systems from unauthorized user access.
